This ski tour leads along a signposted route within the boundaries of the Großarl ski resort, making it suitable for those new to the sport of ski touring. It begins at the Hochbrandalm hut and leads up along the edge of the ski piste before dipping in and out of the forest. The route then merges with a forest track and follows this track all the way to ski route number 11, which leads past the Rosslehenheimalm, Hochalm and Berglandhaus huts. The route then branches off left to the Arltörl, where there is a small chapel, before the final ascent via the Kieserl to the top of the Fulseck mountain at 2,033 metres. After a well-deserved rest at the Gipfelstadl hut it is time to clip back into your skis and head down along the pistes back into the valley. Please be aware that a special ski-touring pass is required if you do not already have a normal ski-lift pass.
- Großarl cross-country skiing trail: Just 200 metres from the GROSSARLER HOF, towards Hüttschlag, you will find the access point to this cross-country skiing trail. It has a relatively gentle profile and leads from Großarl to Kösslerhäusl and back. The trail is suitable for both the traditional Classic technique and the more modern and dynamic Skating technique.
- Reitwiese cross-country skiing loop: This trail includes a practice area for children and is floodlit three times a week. It is just a short walk from our hotel.
- Hüttschlag cross-country skiing trail: This trail begins in Hüttschlag and takes you to the end of the Großarltal Valley, past the mighty mountains forming the Hohe Tauern National Park. There is a 3 km section near the Aschaustüberl hut which is floodlit in the evening.
